Occam is a preservation-focused experimentation and software distribution platform. With Occam, we hope to provide scientists with a friendly way of creating new software and composing workflows of existing software to suit their research needs. The emphasis on preservation and reproducibility is found in its underlying infrastructure which maintains metadata and resources to ensure the repeatability of any and all execution done by the platform. We want to deploy upon Bridges to investigate the applicability of the cluster resources and to improve scalability and performance as it is used by at least one lab in their day-to-day research tasks in this pilot effort. Potentially, we will extend to support Computer Science architecture students as part of course materials and provide a platform to build more specialized Science Gateways.
