  • We are planning an ECSS all-hands meeting by June 2, stay tuned for the announcement. What are topics we should discuss? Sudhakar Pamidighantam remarks that NSF research grant awards mention ECSS as a service that is available at no cost to awardees.

Paul Rodriguez and Bryon Gill: ECSS project with PI Antaki, "Predicting Corporate Default": PI collected data, looks at ~180 variables, time series, machine learning. Figure out best way to set up and run a NN. Do we have the right variables? Time windows? Set up benchmarks. Very collaborative. Kelly Pierce is jump starting biodiversity ML projects (audio, camera) in addition to the Covid work. Science Gateway in future? Kevin: does the Cornell bird call archive now correlate vocailizations with behavior? (Not really.) Sudhakar Pamidighantam is aware of a bird tagging project, see https://osf.io/9j7ax/
