- PEARC – we hosted the student modeling challenge (about 10 students participated using python) – overall it was good event, but didn’t have a huge turnout – going to contact participants ahead of time to help increase participation; undergraduate empower student presented two posters; empower students for the summer will be wrapping up soon; the empower fall application deadline just passed for students and mentors – they will probably be starting work in September. Is there a possibility to extend deadline? Better idea to reach out to them and ask them to apply for Spring.
