  • Important Dates
    • December Quarterly Meeting – 12/9 – 12/10
      • Session requests should be made asap to Leslie F.
      • There will be a session to discuss “Other Metrics” at Quarterly (i.e., should some other metrics be changed?).

    • Interconnections diagram – need to get working on this document.
  • WBS area updates
      • Workforce Development - Linda
        • EMPOWER – fall students are completing their final progress reports; will be reviewing and posting highlights; nearing application for spring and will provide notifications by month’s end; recruiting for summer deadline is Feb. 26th for undergrads and mentors; gave a talk at SC20 re: EMPOWER at best practices for HPC training and education session.
      • Training – Susan
        • Workforce development going strong even with shutdown: new badges; collection of roadmaps is growing; materials being developed.
        • An overlap meeting to discuss how to revamp quarterly new user training.
        • Need to start updating YouTube videos.
        • Terminology task force still moving forward; hope to have a document statement soon.
      • Student Programs - Rosie
        • Computing for Change wrapped up with SC20; 19 students (53% women; 48% first time university; 68% URM).
        • Had a debrief with committee and moving forward to plan SC21.
        • Reaching out to XSEDE collaborators to see if there is interest in info sessions for undergrads/grad students – need to think of way to recruit students virtually.
      • Education - Kate 
        • Collaborative course in spring with UC Berkeley – getting faculty to sign up – maybe a dozen institutions involved.
        • Working to identify workshops to have in spring and summer.
        • Module in a Box – working with a data science fellow (student at Spellman) in the advanced computing for social change space, and she is working to develop curriculum that can be added to the course to make it broader – will be multi-disciplinary course.

      • Campus Engagement - Dana and Henry
        • Status quo; meeting with Campus Champions leadership - working on business for long term – those items that will outlive the XSEDE program.
        • Virtual residency moving along smoothly.
        • Will be publishing at least one paper – submitting to PEARC ’21.
